About Ikebana Essays

The International Society of Ikebana Research (ISIR) has received many submissions in response to its call for essays. It is not possible to include all the essays in the annual publication - International Journal of Ikebana Studies (IJIS).

To help support authors and researchers, ISIR has added this page so that some of the essays that were not included in the journal can be published. In this way, many people interested in ikebana can share their research findings, opinions or experiences. We hope you will enjoy reading these essays. 

Please note that ISIR does not endorse, approve, certify or control the facts or opinions contained in these essays.

We also added some essays that have been published in IJIS.
